Noisy quantum Monty Hall game
نویسنده
چکیده
The influence of spontaneous emission channel and generalized Pauli channel on quantum Monty Hall Game is analysed. The scheme of Flittney and Abbott is reformulated using the formalism of density matrices. Optimal classical strategies for given quantum strategies are found. The whole presented scheme illustrates how quantum noise may change the odds of a zero-sum game.

Maximum Entropy and Bayesian Inference for the Monty Hall Problem
We devise an approach to Bayesian statistics and their applications in the analysis of the Monty Hall problem. We combine knowledge gained through applications of the Maximum Entropy Principle and Nash equilibrium strategies to provide results concerning the use of Bayesian approaches unique to the Monty Hall problem. We use a model to describe Monty’s decision process and clarify that Bayesian...
متن کاملThe quantum monty hall problem
The well-known classical Monty Hall problem, also known under various other names [1], is set in the context of a television game show. It can be seen as a two person game, in which a player P tries to win a prize, but a show master (or Quiz master) Q tries to make it difficult for her [2]. Like other games of this sort [3, 4] it can be “quantized”, i.e., its key elements can be formulated in a...
متن کاملThe Monty Hall Problem as a Bayesian Game
This paper formulates the classic Monty Hall problem as a Bayesian game. Allowing Monty a small amount of freedom in his decisions facilitates a variety of solutions. The solution concept used is the Bayes Nash Equilibrium (BNE), and the set of BNE relies on Monty’s motives and incentives. We endow Monty and the contestant with common prior probabilities (p) about the motives of Monty, and show...

We consider a quantum version of a well-known statistical decision problem, whose solution is, at first sight, counter-intuitive to many. In the quantum version a continuum of possible choices (rather than a finite set) has to be considered. It can be phrased as a two person game between a player P and a quiz master Q. Then P always has a strategy at least as good as in the classical case, whil...
متن کاملPositive operator valued measures and the quantum Monty Hall problem.
A quantum version of the Monty Hall problem, based upon the Positive Operator Valued Measures (POVM) formalism, is proposed. It is shown that basic normalization and symmetry arguments lead univocally to the associated POVM elements, and that the classical probabilities associated with the Monty Hall scenario are recovered for a natural choice of the measurement operators.
